Sentiero Valtellina will be closed
Notice is hereby given that from Monday 21 October, until the end of the work, the Sentiero Valtellina will be closed from the ‘Alder’ entrance for a stretch of approximately 600 m (up to the small wooden bridge) for maintenance and safety work.Duration of the works: estimated in about two weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Trenord replacement buses - Colico-Tirano railway line Trenord replacement buses We inform you that from 10 June to 8 September 2024 the Tirano - Colico railway section will be affected by maintenance and infrastructural improvement interventions, for this reason the movement of trains between the two stations will be suspended. From 10 June to 8 September 2024, RFI carries out infrastructure upgrading and extraordinary maintenance works between Colico and Tirano, in view of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics, with an impact on the service of the RE8 Milan-Lecco-Sondrio-Tirano, R12 Sondrio-Tirano lines , R13 Lecco-Colico-Sondrio. Railway traffic is suspended in the section affected by the works. Trains run from Milan and Colico; Between Colico and Tirano there is a replacement bus service, which includes direct trips to and from the main stations and trips that make all the stops scheduled by the trains. Some buses will connect directly to Colico and Sondrio; others will connect Colico and Tirano, with the sole intermediate stop of Tresenda; others will make all the stops scheduled by the train. FROM THE WATER SPRING TO LAKE COMO
The Valtellina path is a cycle-pedestrian path that runs along the river Adda between Colico and Bormio, for a total distance of 114 km.
Along the route, surrounded by greenery and embraced by the Rhaetian Alps with their characteristic terraced vineyards and the Orobian Alps, it is possible to discover at a leisurely pace the small villages and the scenic and natural beauty of Valtellina. There are many well-equipped rest areas and bike hire points, as well as accommodation and restaurants where you can enjoy the rich wine and food tradition.
The presence along much of the route of the railway makes it possible to have convenient access and connection points to the Sentiero Valtellina.

The realisation of the path was made possible thanks to the intervention of the Comunità Montane della Valtellina which, each for its own area of competence, have invested in the construction and maintenance of the cycle-path.
